The Dragon Ball franchise is back with a major surprise. The anime Dragon Ball Super: Beerus has been officially announced to premiere in the fall of 2026 on Fuji TV. This series is a restructured version of the Dragon Ball Super television anime, with significant improvements in visual, audio, and overall storytelling presentation.
The announcement was made on January 25th during the grand event Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, held at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, and immediately captured the attention of fans worldwide.
Dragon Ball Super Returns as a Refined Edition

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus rebuilds the Dragon Ball Super television series that previously aired between 2015–2018. This project presents a new approach through the use of newly created animation footage, redrawn scenes, and a comprehensive reconstruction of the storyline, positioning it as a refined edition.
Major updates have also been made to visual quality, sound design, and scene composition, utilizing the latest animation technology. The result is expected to deliver more dynamic, immersive battles, and a more precise adaptation of the original concept by Akira Toriyama.
Beerus’s Awakening Shakes the Universe
The story of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is set several years after the defeat of Majin Buu, during a brief period of peace on Earth. However, this tranquility is disturbed by the awakening of Beerus, the long-slumbering God of Destruction.
Beerus’s awakening instills fear in the ** Kais** and Supreme Kais, given his power to annihilate planets in an instant. Upon hearing rumors of a Saiyan who defeated Frieza, Beerus decides to meet Son Goku in person.
The God of Destruction’s presence on Earth marks the beginning of a cosmic-scale conflict, unleashing an unprecedentedly devastating battle between Beerus and Goku and his allies—a fight that shakes the balance of the universe.
