Official Hulu App Discontinued on Nintendo Switch

Nintendo will officially discontinue support for the Hulu app on the Nintendo Switch console. This information was directly confirmed by Nintendo, which stated that the Hulu service will no longer be available for download and will completely cease operations in the near future.

For users trying to find the Hulu app on the Nintendo eShop, it can no longer be found. Meanwhile, for users who have previously downloaded Hulu, the app will remain installed but will no longer be usable after February 5, 2026, the official end date of support.

This discontinuation is part of Disney’s larger strategy for their streaming services. Hulu is gradually phasing out its standalone app on various platforms, not just on the Nintendo Switch. Currently, Disney has integrated Disney+ and Hulu into a single service ecosystem, leading to the abandonment of separate apps.

Hulu is not the only app to discontinue support on the Nintendo Switch. Previously, Twitch took a similar step. The streaming app was available on the Switch in 2021 but only lasted a few years before being discontinued.

Currently, entertainment app options on the Nintendo Switch are becoming increasingly limited. The only major media services still available are YouTube and Crunchyroll. Meanwhile, other popular platforms like Netflix and Disney+ were never officially released for this console.
