Nintendo's "Hello, Mario!" App Now Available on Switch
Nintendo has just released a new app titled Hello, Mario! which is now available for download via the Nintendo eShop and also as a free app for Nintendo smart devices.
This app is specially designed for parents and children: simple, intuitive, and focused on direct interaction with Mario’s face appearing on the screen.
When first launched, the app displays the message “play together with an adult!” as a reminder that this experience is made to be played together with a child and an adult companion. After that, Mario’s face will appear, users (children) can touch or rotate his face on the screen, and Mario will respond with various funny and interactive reactions.
In the corner of the screen, there is a block accessible to find additional interactive items and objects. According to the official explanation, all controls and responses are made to be easily understood by children: simple movements trigger a variety of reactions from Mario, making playtime full of surprises and laughter while also becoming an activity that invites parents to get involved.
Currently, Hello, Mario! is only available in Japan. If you want to download it on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 from outside Japan, you need to have access to a Japanese Nintendo account. Nintendo also stated that this app is part of a series of new Super Mario products targeting shared play experiences between parents and children.
For fans outside Japan, the good news is: Nintendo has scheduled the launch of similar products (including Hello, Mario!) in international markets in early 2026.
