Pokopia Pokémon Prototype Leak in Pixel-Art Version
The early prototype of Pokopia Pokémon, a farming simulation game resulting from a collaboration between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo, leaked online featuring a pixel-art style reminiscent of Stardew Valley.
Screenshots, gameplay recordings, and even links to the prototype’s source code have circulated. Pokémon Pokopia was announced as a collaborative project between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo offering a life simulation: you play as a humanoid Ditto, befriend various Pokémon, build a house, and plant and gather materials for crafting. However, the leaked prototype version looks quite different from initial expectations.
The first leak was shared by the RyDawgE account — later verified and republished by Centro Leaks through a series called Teraleak. According to the post, the prototype files include complete Unity source code, so anyone with Unity can play it themselves. The leaker also claimed the initial project was developed by Game Freak before being transferred to Koei Tecmo.
Instead of featuring modern 3D aesthetics like some promotional materials, the leaked prototype uses a two-dimensional pixel-art style — a look more reminiscent of Stardew Valley than voxel or 3D worlds. In this prototype, gameplay focuses on assigning Pokémon to gather resources and build structures, with clearly visible farming and crafting mechanics.
Early reports even mentioned that the prototype version was originally intended for the first-generation Nintendo Switch and was seen as a kind of successor to Pokémon: Let’s Go.
