Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns Adapted Into Light Novel
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns is confirmed to be adapted into a light novel format. This adaptation is scheduled for release in Japan on July 22, 2025. The novel will be written by Aya Yajima, who is also known for other official adaptation works within the Demon Slayer universe.

This light novel adaptation will contain more than 240 pages and come with four exclusive color illustrations. In addition to Aya Yajima as the main writer, the scriptwriting process also received contributions from Hikaru Kondo, founder and main producer of the ufotable animation studio, who was previously involved in scriptwriting for the Demon Slayer series and movies.
The novel narrates the crucial moment when Muzan Kibutsuji attacks the Ubuyashiki residence—the main headquarters of the Demon Slayer Corps. Tanjiro and the Hashira immediately move to protect their leader. However, they end up trapped in a mysterious space created by Muzan's power: Infinity Castle, a terrifying fortress that serves as the home of demons.
Inside this castle, the climactic battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons begins—a decisive chapter in the long journey against darkness.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle – Part 1: Akaza Returns is scheduled to premiere in Japan starting July 18, 2025. Ahead of its release, the trailer and latest visuals of the film have been unveiled and quickly went viral across various platforms.
Fan enthusiasm is very high—evidenced by the trailer's outstanding achievement of garnering over 40 million views within the first 24 hours since its release.
