Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway, Officially Released Today
Toho, the studio behind the Detective Conan animated franchise, has officially released their latest film, Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway, in theaters across Japan today, Friday, April 10.
This highly anticipated film is the 29th entry in the Detective Conan theatrical film series. Set in the port city of Yokohama, this film presents spectacular action centered around the world of motorcycles. The spotlight falls on a new character, Chihaya Hagiwara, a member of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police Traffic Motorcycle Unit with extraordinary riding skills. Her impressive abilities lead Ran Mouri to spontaneously nickname her the "Goddess of Wind" upon their first meeting.
This is Chihaya Hagiwara's first appearance in the Detective Conan film series. The conflict escalates into an intense duel between the "Goddess of Wind" and a mysterious figure dubbed the "Black Fallen Angel."
Synopsis of Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway
The story begins with Conan Edogawa, Ran, Sonoko, and Kogoro Mouri traveling to Minato Mirai, Yokohama, to attend the "Kanagawa Motorcycle Festival." They are accompanied by Masumi Sera, a motorcycle enthusiast.
In the middle of the journey, a mysterious black motorcycle suddenly speeds past them, leaping over the car carrying Conan's group. The figure who skillfully chases the mysterious motorcycle is none other than Chihaya Hagiwara – the woman Ran once referred to as the "Goddess of Wind." However, the dramatic chase ends badly: Chihaya's motorcycle is wrecked and the suspect manages to escape in an instant.
Upon arriving at the Yokohama festival location, a new police motorcycle with cutting-edge technology named "Angel" is introduced to the public. At the same time, reports emerge that the mysterious black motorcycle has now moved to Tokyo. In fact, that motorcycle has successfully evaded pursuit from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police.
What is more troubling is that the black motorcycle bears very identical similarities to "Angel." For that reason, it is dubbed the "Black Angel" — "Lucifer" — and a massive pursuit continues.
A big question arises: who is the mysterious rider, and what is their true purpose? Amid all this, bitter memories of Chihaya's younger brother, Kenji Hagiwara, and her former partner, Jinpei Matsuda, keep flashing through her mind again and again.
Will the "Goddess of Wind" be able to uncover the mystery behind the "Black Angel"?
