Faker Adds Glorious Record with 1,000 International Kills
On July 10, 2025, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, the legendary T1 mid-laner, achieved a new milestone in his career by recording his 1,000th kill in international League of Legends tournaments.

This historic moment occurred in the second game of the upper bracket final against Gen.G at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2025 in Vancouver, Canada, where T1 managed to win the match and tie the series.
Faker began his journey on the international stage at the 2013 World Championship, when SKT T1 faced Lemondogs where he recorded his first kill. Over 12 years competing in various international tournaments, he has consistently shown peak performance, from MSI, World Championships, to invitational tournaments.
In addition to being the highest international kill scorer, Faker also dominates records in the Korean domestic league (LCK): First to reach 1,000, 2,000, and 3,000 kills in LCK, First to 1,000 LCK matches in 2025.
Moreover, he holds five World Championship titles and two MSI trophies, making him the player with the most international championship titles in League of Legends history.
Entering 2025, Faker continues to demonstrate his class, finishing top six in the LCK Cup, runner-up in the LCK 2025 Road to MSI, which secured T1's spot at MSI in Vancouver.
Although they lost 2–3 to Gen.G in the first round of MSI, T1 now awaits their opponent in the lower bracket final (Bilibili Gaming or Anyone’s Legend) on July 12, 2025. A victory there will open the chance to face Gen.G once more and claim Faker's third MSI trophy.
The achievement of 1,000 international kills is not just a number, but proof of Faker's resilience, consistency, and evolution of playstyle over more than a decade. In an ever-changing meta era, he has adapted, maintained the highest level, and inspired new generations of players. This success confirms his status as the "Greatest of All Time" in the competitive League of Legends scene.
