Zach Cregger is reportedly set to be the director for this Resident Evil film reboot.
According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, there is currently a hot bidding war for the distribution rights of the Resident Evil film reboot directed by Zach Cregger.
For those who don't know, Zach Cregger is known for the horror film titled Barbarian, which released in theaters in 2022. Several of his new film projects, like Weapons, have also received positive responses from audiences. Now, he will serve as both director and writer for this Resident Evil reboot.
From The Hollywood Reporter’s report, four studios have already submitted distribution rights, including Netflix and Warner Bros. With big names like these, this RE reboot film is sure to attract a lot of attention. Moreover, the franchise is well-known among audiences, not just gamers.
Unfortunately, there is no further information yet on what this reboot adaptation will look like, both in terms of actors and the story that will be presented.
