GitHub Announces Free CoPilot Code for Visual Studio Code!
The world's most popular code repository platform, GitHub, just announced that they will provide the CoPilot Code tools for the Visual Studio Code code editor for free.
GitHub CoPilot can be accessed for free; simply connect your Visual Studio Code to your personal GitHub account.
The free version of CoPilot Code has several limitations, namely 2000 code completions and 50 chats per month. You can also choose the Claude 3.5 Sonnet model from Anthropic or GPT-4o from OpenAI. Users of the free version can also use third-party agents and have the option to create their own extensions.
CoPilot Code is an AI-based programming assistant that helps you write code faster with automatic context-relevant suggestions. This tool is developed by GitHub and OpenAI, and it supports many programming languages. Additionally, CoPilot integrates with popular code editors like Visual Studio Code. The aim is to enhance productivity and help learn coding.
Now, GitHub already has a lot of users, around 150 million people. Previously, to use CoPilot Code in Visual Studio Code, you had to subscribe to the Pro version, which cost around US$ 10. With this free version, hopefully, more students and beginner developers can benefit from this tool.
