Godzilla Minus Zero Officially Releases Globally November 3, Celebrating Godzilla Day
Godzilla Minus Zero will be released on Godzilla Day, November 3, with a North American release following on November 6. Takashi Yamazaki returns as director and VFX supervisor.
The latest film in the iconic franchise, Godzilla Minus Zero, is officially scheduled for a global release on November 3, which fans celebrate as Godzilla Day. This announcement is accompanied by the release of a new key visual that heightens anticipation among fans worldwide.
The date of November 3 holds historical significance for the franchise: it was on this day that the first Godzilla film premiered in 1954. Since then, this date has been commemorated as Godzilla Day. Now, 72 years after the debut of the first film and three years after the global phenomenon Godzilla Minus One—which was released on November 3, 2023—the series continues this important tradition.

Director Takashi Yamazaki returns to a key role as director, screenwriter, and visual effects supervisor for Godzilla Minus Zero. Yamazaki’s presence in these primary creative positions signals that the film will continue the artistic vision and emphasis on visual effects quality that characterized previous productions.
The production team also announced that Godzilla Minus Zero will premiere in North America on November 6, still within the same week as the Japanese release. According to the announcement, this marks the first time in the long history of Japanese-produced Godzilla films that the Japanese and US release schedules are nearly simultaneous. Release dates for other regions will be announced gradually.
Legacy and Franchise Success

Godzilla Minus One was previously produced as part of the Godzilla franchise’s 70th-anniversary celebration and became the 30th live-action Godzilla film produced in Japan. The film achieved massive box office success with earnings exceeding 7.65 billion yen and garnered international acclaim.
