Instagram Down, Thousands of Users Experience Disruptions
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the social media platform Instagram experienced a significant technical disruption, reported by users across various countries.

In the United States, the outage tracking site Downdetector recorded 16,747 problem reports at 11:40 a.m. ET. Globally, a surge in reports occurred around 4 p.m. UK time, with more than 2,000 users reporting similar symptoms.
Users in the US and UK reported issues failing to load feeds, comments, and public pages. The app felt slow, frequently crashed, or could not be opened at all.
Meta (Instagram’s parent company) has not yet provided an official explanation regarding the cause or when the service will recover.
Previous records in 2022 and early 2025 show outages occurring several times, usually resolving within hours. The Instagram outage on July 2, 2025, is global and significant, especially impacting the US and UK, with reports reaching tens of thousands of users. The main problems include failure to load content, app crashes, and slow access. So far, Meta has not released an official statement related to the cause of the issue.
