Instagram Introduces Comment Editing Feature, But There Is a Time Limit
Instagram officially presents the feature that users have been waiting for the longest, which is the ability to edit comments. This update is expected to address one of the main complaints from users so far.
With this new feature, users can now edit comments that have been published directly (in-stream) within 15 minutes after being uploaded. The 'Edit' option can be accessed below the comment that needs to be changed, and tapping it will open a pop-up window to revise the comment text.
Instagram states that during the 15-minute period, users are not limited in the number of edits. However, it is worth noting that only text elements can be edited. Users will not be able to update any image elements in the comments.
After a comment is edited, other users will see an indication that the comment has been changed. Unfortunately, Instagram does not provide a version history feature, so there is no way to see specific changes made previously.
