Jakarta Concert Orchestra “Symphonic Saga: Iconic Scores from Anime & Games” 2024

Held at Studio RCTI+, Jakarta, this concert successfully attracted the attention of 4,100 spectators in two sessions, at 15:30 and 19:30 WIB. In addition to being a music performance, this event also serves as a major celebration for anime and game fans in Indonesia.

Conducted by Avip Priatna, along with Batavia Madrigal Singers, The Resonanz Children Choir (TRCC), and TRCC Serunai, this concert presented 24 iconic songs from popular games such as Kingdom Hearts III, Legend of Zelda, Persona 5, NieR: Automata, Suikoden II, Pokémon, Chrono Trigger, Super Smash Bros, and the Final Fantasy series (X, VII Remake, XV, and XVI). For anime fans, there were also songs from Hunter x Hunter, Saint Seiya, Captain Tsubasa, Crayon Shinchan, Violet Evergarden, One Piece, Naruto: Shippūden, Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Kimi no Na Wa.

The excitement wasn't only inside the studio; outside the concert was also bustling with various interesting booths that made the event even more exciting. There were food trucks and anime-themed food and beverage booths that were a particular attraction, featuring special menus that indulged visitors' taste buds. In addition, there were also exclusive anime-themed merchandise offering unique collections that could only be obtained at this event.

The concert opened grandly by the Jakarta Concert Orchestra with the song “The Legend of Zelda Main Theme” from the Legend of Zelda game series. This performance immediately made the audience feel a sense of nostalgia and adventure.

After that, captivating performances by soloists Inggrid Patricia, Alin C. Pontoh, Alexandra Januarvian, and Melky Adrian brought the song “Last Surprise” from Persona 5. Their energetic vocals successfully lifted the audience's spirits.

The performance from TRCC Serunai, a children's choir aged 4-7 years, successfully stole attention with the song “Yume Ippai” in the Indonesian version from the anime Chibi Maruko-Chan. Dressed in adorable pink costumes, they delivered a performance that was not only musically beautiful but also warmed the heart.

Batavia Madrigal Singers (BMS) Female also added elegance to the event with the song “Letter” from the anime Violet Evergarden. The BMS Female members appeared in elegant white outfits, complemented with parasols as accessories, making their performance even more visually stunning.

The Jakarta Concert Orchestra along with BMS captivated the audience again with the song “Entrance to Infinity Castle” from the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The audience was truly mesmerized by the majestic orchestral blend and perfect vocal harmony.

TRCC, a children's choir aged 8-17 years, also performed outstandingly with the song “Nippon Egao Hyakkei” from the anime Joshiraku. The children wore colorful kimonos, enhancing the concert's atmosphere with a touch of Japanese culture.

The soloists also delivered impressive performances. Stefani Yang dazzled with the song “A Beautiful Song” from NieR: Automata and “Blue Bird” from the anime Naruto: Shippūden. Freya Almashira Bunawan and Nindy Fioretta Larasati presented beautiful harmonies through the song “Lifelight” from the game Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Farman Purnama was able to touch the audience's emotions with “Tsuki wo Miteita” from Final Fantasy XVI, while Sherleen Emmanuel captivated with her violin performance of “In the Palace (Lamentoso & Agitato)” from the anime Hunter x Hunter.

Batavia Madrigal Singers (BMS) Male also performed impressively with the iconic song “We Are!” from the anime One Piece, complete with costumes resembling the main character, Luffy, and the iconic straw hat.

To reminisce childhood, JCO presented the Opening Soundtrack from Captain Tsubasa anime in the Indonesian version. This performance successfully prompted the audience to sing along, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere.

Before the concert ended, JCO along with the soloists performed the epic song “One Winged Angel” from Final Fantasy VII. The audience's enthusiasm was so high that they requested an encore. Responding to that request, JCO gave a final surprise by performing the song “Sparkle” from the anime Kimi no Na wa and “Shinzō wo Sasageyo!” from the anime Attack on Titan as the perfect closing for this concert.
