This information appeared in an exclusive interview with Famitsu involving 171 Japanese game creators to welcome the New Year 2026. In his brief message, Nakanishi stated that the team is working hard to release Resident Evil Requiem in the best condition on February 27, 2026. After this series of work is completed, he plans to go to Finland and wants to start the next game project as soon as possible.
Nakanishi’s quoted words:
“On February 27, we will successfully complete ‘Resident Evil Requiem’ and release it to everyone in the best condition! And then I’m going to Finland! And also, I want to make the next game as soon as possible!!”

Nakanishi’s statement immediately sparked speculation in the Resident Evil fan community. Given his background — Nakanishi previously led projects such as Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard — many suspect he might return to lead a new title in the franchise. One guess that emerged is the possibility of Resident Evil Revelations 3, considering Nakanishi’s connection with the Revelations series.
