NARUTO, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Chainsaw Man Creators Share Support Illustrations for Netflix Film “Cosmic Princess Kaguya!”
Cosmic Princess Kaguya! will be released worldwide as an original Netflix animated film on January 22, 2026. To celebrate this release, director Shingo Yamashita has unveiled special support illustrations and messages from five creators whose original works he previously worked on for opening and ending animation sequences.
The participating creators are Masashi Kishimoto, Gege Akutami, Tatsuki Fujimoto, Sosuke Toka, and Aneko Yusagi. Each shared an illustration along with a personal comment expressing their support for the project.

Aneko Yusagi (The Rising of the Shield Hero) I tend to focus quite a bit on the background, but the level of detail in the camerawork and the flow of the battle scenes were truly amazing and completely captivated me. There were so many elements that felt fun and entertaining, and on top of all that, the music was clearly handled with great care. I couldn’t take my eyes off it.
Cosmic Princess Kaguya! Story Synopsis
In Tsukuyomi, a virtual space where dreams and hopes gather, the stage is set for the encounters and farewells of young girls. Set in the near future, Iroha Sakayori, a 17-year-old high school student at a prestigious Tokyo school, leads a very busy life juggling part-time work and her studies.
Her daily solace is watching the live streams of Yachiyo Tsukimi, the administrator of Tsukuyomi and a hugely popular virtual streamer. Within Tsukuyomi, where anyone can create an avatar and freely engage in creative activities, Iroha supports Yachiyo as a loyal fan while also earning a little pocket money through battle games.
One day on her way home, Iroha discovers a mysterious gaming pole that glows in seven colors. Emerging from it is an unexpectedly adorable baby. Unable to leave the baby behind, she takes it home, only to see it quickly grow into a girl of her own age.
“Could you be Princess Kaguya?”
The grown-up Princess Kaguya turns out to be quite selfish. At Kaguya’s request, Iroha begins to assist with her live streaming activities in Tsukuyomi. As Iroha, acting as producer, creates music and Kaguya performs as a virtual singer, the two gradually grow closer.
Unaware that an evil entity is approaching to take Kaguya back to the Moon, this is the story of Princess Kaguya like never before.
