Mega Dragonite Revealed in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Mega Evolution will be one of the main features in this game. This mechanism was first introduced in Pokémon X and Y, but since then it has rarely received major spotlight until it returned in this latest series.

During the day, Trainers can explore the colorful city and find Pokémon in the wild zones, where they might encounter powerful wild Pokémon known as alpha Pokémon. These Pokémon are larger than usual versions, have glowing red eyes, and are very strong and difficult to catch.

At night, players can also participate in Z-A Royale and try to climb the ranks, battling stronger Trainers as the player progresses. One of the Trainers players will face in promotion matches is Corbeau, the boss of an organization operating in Lumiose City called the Rust Syndicate.

Various encounters await players in Lumiose City. Emma is a detective who asks players to search for missing Pokémon, find lost items, and occasionally join in Pokémon battles. Trainers can also help Mable, the acting director of the Pokémon Research Lab, who analyzes Pokémon and the reasons behind their increasing population. In return, players can earn TMs and other rewards for their assistance.

Players can also look forward to investigations into Rogue Mega Evolution and discovering new Mega-Evolved Pokémon.

Rogue Mega Evolution: Wild Pokémon mysteriously undergo Mega Evolution and rampage in Lumiose City. Trainers who help fight and calm them alongside Team MZ can obtain Mega Stones.

Newly Discovered Mega-Evolved Pokémon: Mega Dragonite, characterized by features resembling Dragonair as well as increased speed and flying range, is one of the newly introduced Mega-Evolved Pokémon.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on October 16, 2025.
