Minecraft Leaks Collaboration with Smurfs
Minecraft teases fans again with a leaked collaboration featuring the iconic blue characters, Smurfs.

Through a post on the official Minecraft Marketplace account on X (formerly Twitter), Mojang gave the first clue about this crossover content, which seems ready to enliven our blocky world.
Last weekend, the Minecraft Marketplace account posted a close-up image of a blue figure with Minecraft’s typical blocky shape, accompanied by a mushroom emoji (🍄) and a blue circle (🔵) as well as the brief caption “The village is about to look different…”. The official account tag for the 2025 Smurfs movie also appeared on the post, confirming that the official partnership between Mojang and the Smurfs franchise is truly in the announcement phase.
The new animated Smurfs film released in mid-July 2025 received mixed reviews, even ranking among the lowest-rated films of the year. Regardless of these critical remarks, the Smurfs characters with their small colorful mushroom village fit perfectly into Minecraft’s creative ecosystem, where freedom to create is the key to fun.
A Long History of Minecraft Collaborations Minecraft has a long tradition of featuring crossovers from various popular franchises. In the past, players could visit Candlekeep Library through the Dungeons & Dragons DLC. In Minecraft Legends, enemies from Age of Empires 2 were replaced by typical Minecraft creatures. Other collaborations included the Crystal Suit bundle with Swarovski and several Superman skins tied to the latest film.
With that track record, it’s no surprise that the Smurfs x Minecraft leak sparked enthusiasm even before official details were announced.
When is the Release? There is no official date yet for the release of the Smurfs crossover content. However, since the film has been in theaters since mid-July 2025, it is very likely that the content pack will be available on Minecraft Marketplace within the next few weeks. Make sure to check the Marketplace on both the Java and Bedrock editions, as Mojang usually releases content on both platforms simultaneously.
