Netflix Will Stream the Animated Series Devil May Cry.
Netflix has released a trailer for the animated series Devil May Cry, which will be coming soon.
Produced by Studio MIR, the premiere date for the series has also been announced, set for April 2025.
Amidst the destruction, sword fights, and gunfire in the trailer, one scene stands out: Dante running through the wreckage of a recently exploded aircraft.
Devil May Cry is inspired by the popular and stylish hack-and-slash action game series by CAPCOM of the same name. Adi Shankar, the executive producer of Castlevania, revealed to IGN in 2018 that this animation will be part of the same universe as Castlevania, referred to as the "bootleg multiverse."
Synopsis:
In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game, evil forces attempt to open a portal between the human world and the demon world. Amidst this chaos is Dante, an orphaned demon hunter who works on a contract basis, unaware that the fate of both worlds rests in his hands.
The Devil May Cry game series was first launched in 2001 as an exclusive title for PlayStation 2 (and later ported to other platforms). The latest title in the series is Devil May Cry 5, which was released in 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam (a Special Edition was later released for current-generation consoles in 2020). Additionally, there was a reboot developed by Ninja Theory that was released in 2013.
