Hades 2 Weapon Unlock Guide, How to Obtain & Complete Resources

A brief and clear guide to unlocking the six Nocturnal weapons in Hades 2: the requirements for each weapon, how to obtain the necessary resources, plus brief usage tips and crafting order.

Weapon List & Unlock Costs

Enter the large light pool in the middle of the preparation room to open the weapon menu — there you can craft (unlock) weapons if you have the required resources.

• Wizard’s Staff (Descura) — starting weapon (no cost)
• Sister Sword (Lim & Oros) — 1 silver
• Umbral Fire (Ygnium) — 2 silver, 2 cinder
• Moonstone Axe (Zorephet) — 10 silver
• Silver Skull (Revaal) — 1 bronze, 2 glassrock
  Prerequisite: must have crafted Umbral Fire and Moonstone Axe first.
• Black Cloak (Xinth) — 2 cinder, 2 adamant
  Prerequisite: must have crafted Silver Skull first.

Controls & Attack Mechanics Explanation

• Basic attack: press X (Steam Deck / controller) or left click (mouse).
• Special attack: press Y (Steam Deck / controller) or right click (mouse).
• Omega (charge version): hold the attack button for a few seconds for the “Omega” version — consumes a bit of magick and usually stronger/different effect.

Summary of Each Weapon (Style & Brief Tips)

• Wizard’s Staff (Descura): beginner weapon, easy to use. Simple melee combo + long-range projectiles. Omega makes projectiles explode. Suitable for beginners.
• Sister Sword (Lim & Oros): fast attacks but low damage. Basic Omega can teleport behind enemies. Ideal for high mobility.
• Umbral Fire (Ygnium): focused on long-range fire attacks. More suitable for players who like to keep distance.
• Moonstone Axe (Zorephet): slow but very powerful. Effective against many enemies, less agile for bosses.
• Silver Skull (Revaal): unique with three skulls as ammo. Can be shot then retrieved. Special attack is a leap. Very tactical.
• Black Cloak (Xinth): like an exosuit. Standard attack is a hard punch, special attack is a rocket, Omega is a homing missile. Powerful but the most expensive to unlock.

How to Obtain Resources

• Silver: obtained in Erebus from crescent moon piles. The Reagent Sensing spell (1 moly flower) helps mark them. Sometimes can get 6 silver from Narcissus in Oceanus.
• Cinder: drops from Hecate (first boss). 1 cinder per victory.
• Glassrock: can be found in Fields of Mourning. Reagent Sensing helps detect.
• Bronze: available in Ephyra City (Surface). Need upgrades to survive there.
• Adamant: found in Mount Olympus (end area of Surface path). Shines in the snow.

⚠️ Note: some materials on the Surface (like bronze & adamant) require certain abilities/items to mine. Make sure to unlock related upgrades.

Recommended Crafting Order (Practical)

1. Craft Sister Sword (1 silver) for quick mobility.
2. Gather silver for Moonstone Axe (10 silver) or Umbral Fire (2 silver + 2 cinder).
3. Farm cinder by defeating Hecate repeatedly.
4. After having Umbral Fire + Moonstone Axe, gather glassrock and bronze for Silver Skull.
5. Finally, farm adamant in Olympus for Black Cloak.
