Special PV for Official Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Released, Produced by MAPPA
The final volume, Volume 3, of the spin-off manga Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has officially been released. To celebrate this achievement, animation studio MAPPA also launched a special PV showcasing the distinctive atmosphere of the series. MAPPA is widely known as the studio behind the anime adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen.
This special PV is directed by Shun Miyagawa, a figure who previously worked as a music video director for Tokyo Clone and was involved as a key animator in the upcoming anime feature film, Chainsaw Man Reze Arc. His presence makes this PV feel even more special, especially for fans following the developments of the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise.
About Jujutsu Kaisen and the Spin-off Modulo
Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy manga that follows the story of Yuji Itadori, a high school student who gets dragged into the world of curses after a dangerous cursed object is unsealed. The original work by Gege Akutami was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024 and has surpassed 150 million copies in circulation.
Its anime adaptation began with the first season airing from October 2020 to March 2021, followed by the feature film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 released in December 2021, which was a global success with box office earnings reaching 26.5 billion yen. After that, the second season aired from July to December 2023, while the third season, Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game Arc Part 1, aired from January to March 2026.
Meanwhile, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is a spin-off manga set in a not-too-distant future from the main series timeline. This manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump from Issue 41 of 2025 released on September 8, until Issue 15 of 2026 published on March 9.
Story Background of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
The story of Modulo takes place 68 years after the Culling Game incident, precisely in the year 2086. In a changing world, an unexpected event occurs involving a spaceship and extraterrestrial entities calling themselves Simuria.
In this critical situation, the fate of Earth lies in the hands of two Japanese jujutsu sorcerers, Tsurugi Okkotsu and Yuka Okkotsu. The story develops into an unprecedented battle, bringing together jujutsu sorcerers and threats from outer space.
