Summary of Battlefield 6 Updates Ahead of Open Beta
Battlefield 6 Open Beta comes with a host of major changes! Signature weapons, new class system, revive in Domination, and much more.

Ahead of the Battlefield™ 6 Early Access Beta on Thursday, August 7, and Open Beta on August 9, Battlefield shared reflections on the journey with Battlefield Labs, as well as an overview of various improvements and adjustments made based on community feedback.
During the Open Beta period, Battlefield Labs will be temporarily paused, but will return afterward to continue receiving input and iterating development based on player feedback and data.
Changes Based on Feedback
Weapon Mode: Closed vs Open
- Introduced two modes: Closed Weapon and Open Weapon.
- Closed Weapon Conquest Playlist is available in Beta with full XP progression.
- Players are free to try both to determine which suits them best.
Map and Mode Improvements
Player movement data (e.g., Siege of Cairo) used to:
- Reset objectives
- Add new cover
- Adjust area sizes and turret placements
- Domination mode now includes a revive feature, adding a team strategic element.
Weapons and Customization
- Adjustments to Time-to-Kill and Time-to-Death based on feedback.
- Weapon customization interface is clearer and more user-friendly.
Introduced Signature Weapons:
- Provides exclusive advantages based on class.
Example: Only Recon is effective using sniper rifles.
Towards Launch: Class Changes
Assault
New focus on teamwork, no longer solo play.
Adrenaline Injector now:
- Clears flash/stun effects
- Increases damage resistance
- Increases movement speed
- Commanding Presence: New trait to speed up capture and force team out of combat status.
- Deploy Beacon now belongs to Assault, not Recon.
- New Gadget: Assault Ladder — vertical access for squad mobility.
Engineer
- Focus on primary role in vehicles and explosives.
- Evaluation of gadget effectiveness and impact in large-scale battles continues.
Support
Ongoing evaluation of:
- Frequency of supply crates
- Impact of buff on signature weapons
Goal: Ensure Support feels important in the squad.
Recon
- New focus: Disinformation and sabotage.
- New training path: Spec Ops (replacing Pathfinder).
- Spec Ops 0–2: Stealth, detects enemy gadgets, and combat status fades quickly.
- Active Ability: Calls UAV for automatic spotting.
- Aim Spotting Trait: Detect enemies when aiming.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta Schedule
Get ready for the battlefield! Battlefield 6 will host their biggest Open Beta, available for only two weekends:
- Weekend 1: August 9–11
- Weekend 2: August 14–17
If you want earlier access, you can join Early Access starting August 7, exclusively for selected players.
