After leaving Capcom, Hideaki Itsuno has now joined Tencent's studio.
If you're a fan of Capcom games, you're probably already familiar with the name Hideaki Itsuno.
With a skilled hand that has produced many hit game series, including being the mastermind behind the revival of classic franchises with Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma 2, Itsuno is a figure that fans always look forward to. Which gamer wouldn't be shocked and saddened to lament the fate of their favorite Capcom franchise after Itsuno decided to leave in pursuit of a new career that was still shrouded in mystery at the time? Well, that mystery has finally been solved.
After keeping fans in suspense, it has finally been revealed where Hideaki Itsuno has landed after leaving Capcom. He will be joining a studio under Tencent – Lightspeed Studios, which is currently focused on PUBG Mobile and the less successful game, Undawn, featuring Will Smith.
Itsuno will serve as the Head Studio for the new branch of Lightspeed Studios, called Lightspeed Japan Studio, and will be responsible for developing AAA action games. Additionally, with this announcement, Lightspeed Japan Studio has also begun recruiting additional staff.
There is still no clear information about what kind of action game we can expect from Itsuno's debut at Lightspeed Japan Studio, and there hasn't been any news about which platforms the game will be released on. What do you think? Are you optimistic about this project?
