Sharp officially launches its latest flagship in Indonesia, the Sharp Aquos R9
Entering the mid-end market, the Aquos R9 comes with many upgrades.
Starting from the camera made by Leica, larger memory, more advanced processor, to a larger battery capacity compared to the previous generation.
The Aquos R9 also grabs attention with some cool features, such as Vapor Chamber Cooling technology that keeps the device cool during intensive use, for example, while recording long videos or playing games.
So, one of the cool features on the Aquos R9 is the Generative AI (GenAI) that can summarize voice messages and present them in a more concise format.
With GenAI, you no longer need to listen to all the long voice messages. The AI will provide a clear summary, so you can immediately know what to do without the hassle of listening to the lengthy messages.
The design of the Sharp Aquos R9 looks elegant and modern, created by renowned designer from Japan, Miyake Design. This phone features a 6.5-inch display with dimensions of 156 mm x 75 mm x 8.9 mm and weighs 195 grams.
The Aquos R9 screen uses a Pro IGZO OLED panel, full HD+ (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) with a refresh rate of 240 Hz. Its brightness can reach 2,000 nits, making it perfect for outdoor use, while when the screen is white, the brightness is recorded at 1,500 nits.
The body of the Aquos R9 is made from aluminum, the screen is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the back is made of Gorilla Glass 5.
Not only that, this phone also has IPX5/IPX8 certification making it water-resistant, IP6X for dust resistance, and MIL-STD-810G for shock and impact resistance.
In terms of processor, the Aquos R9 uses the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 combined with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. This phone runs on Android 14, which can be upgraded for up to 3 versions in the future.
For the battery, the Aquos R9 has a capacity of 5,000 mAh, larger than the previous one which was only 4,000 mAh. Plus, it supports 30W fast charging.
Moving on to the camera, Sharp collaborates with Leica, a camera manufacturer from Germany. With three rear cameras of 50.3MP, 1/1.55 sensor, and Leica Hektor lens, the AQUOS R9 can produce sharp, clear, and detailed images, even in low-light conditions.
The support for Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) keeps photos stable and clear, even in low light, making your photography experience even better.
The Aquos R9 camera is also equipped with the smart feature Shadow Remover that can remove shadows from photo objects, making the photo brighter and its lighting more even. This feature adjusts the lighting to make images look more professional and appealing.
Not only for photos, the Aquos R9 can also create high-quality videos thanks to the Cinematic Mode feature that provides a dramatic perspective, and the Night Video Mode that keeps recordings bright even at night.
To capture moving images, the Aquos R9 is equipped with a hybrid stabilizer feature that combines optical and electronic stabilization, ensuring that the resulting videos have minimal blur and remain stable even in fast motion.
The Sharp Aquos R9 is available in two color options, Forest Green and Winter White, and is sold at a price of IDR 9,999,000. Sharp also revealed that they will only sell 1,000 units of the Aquos R9 in Indonesia.
