Silent Hill 2 Remake Becomes the Best Horror Game of 2024!
Although it didn't take home an award from The Game Awards 2024, Silent Hill 2 Remake has succeeded in winning the title of best horror game of 2024 at The Horror Game Awards 2024 held on December 14, 2024.
Not only did it receive the title of Horror Game of the Year, this game from Bloober Team also managed to win three other awards, namely Best Soundtrack, Best Survival Horror, and Best Performance for actor Luke Roberts who played James Sunderland.
In addition to Silent Hill 2 Remake, there were also other games such as Lethal Company which won Best Multiplayer Horror Game, and Capcom which was named Best Developer. Interestingly, Masahiro Ito also received a Lifetime Achievement Award for the iconic character Pyramid Head that he created in Silent Hill.
Although the event wasn't as big and glamorous as The Game Awards 2024, the awards for horror games still deserve recognition. The horror genre has a wide reach, especially with the many games released each year; not only those focused on storytelling but also those filled with action and even the silly ones like Lethal Company, The Backrooms, and Pilgrim.
