"THE ONE PIECE" to Premiere Globally in February 2027 on Netflix, Concept Art of Young Luffy Released
The latest anime series "THE ONE PIECE" has confirmed its global release schedule. This new adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's legendary work will be available on Netflix starting February 2027 and will be broadcast simultaneously worldwide.
Along with the announcement, new concept art was also released. This image depicts one of the iconic moments from Luffy's childhood in Foosha Village, offering an early glimpse of the visual approach to be used in this project.
As a new adaptation of "ONE PIECE," the series will retell the story from the beginning, starting with the East Blue arc. Its first season is designed to cover approximately 50 manga chapters, including Luffy's early journey up to his meeting with Sanji at the floating restaurant ship Baratie.
The premiere season will consist of 7 episodes with a total runtime of about 300 minutes. All episodes are scheduled to be released simultaneously, allowing viewers to enjoy the beginning of Luffy's adventure without waiting for weekly releases.
On the production side, "THE ONE PIECE" is being handled by WIT STUDIO, with Masashi Koizuka as director. The assistant director position is held by Hideaki Abe, while Takashi Kishimoto is responsible for series composition. For the visual team, character design and chief animation supervision are handled by Kyoji Asano and Toshimitsu Honda.
Additionally, other creative staff members have been announced, including Yasuhiro Kajino as creature and image board designer, Airi Taguchi for prop design, Ken Imaizumi and Shuhei Fukuda as action animators, Tomonori Kuroda as art director, and Ryoma Kawamura as animation producer.
