The Sims Mobile Will Shut Down in January 2026

After more than seven years and dozens of updates, the The Sims Mobile team announced that the game will be discontinued. This announcement outlines the steps that will take place over the coming months, from the final update to server shutdown. For the player and creator community, this is the last chance to complete projects, share creations, and enjoy the game before it is permanently closed.

Why this is happening — and a thank you

The development team expresses great gratitude to The Sims Mobile community. They highlight the creativity of players — stories, house designs, and Sims created — as what made the game’s journey meaningful. Although the decision to end service is always difficult, the team invites players to enjoy the final months together.

Important dates (official schedule)

• October 20, 2025 — Final update release. This update will be available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Starting today, purchases using real money in the app are stopped (paid packages will no longer be available). All in-game currencies you already have — such as SimCash, Simoleons, and Tickets — can still be used until the server shutdown. Additionally, this update introduces unlimited energy for all players, so you can maximize playtime and complete projects before the shutdown.
• October 21, 2025 at 8:30 PM WIB — Removed from app stores. The Sims Mobile will be removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store, so new users cannot download it. However, players who have previously downloaded or installed the game can still re-download or update it through their app history/library until the shutdown date.
  • On Google Play, find the game in My apps & games → Library if you want to re-download.
  • On App Store, access My Purchases to find The Sims Mobile and re-download if needed.
• January 6, 2026 — All content unlocked. All Build Mode and Create A Sim (CAS) items will be unlocked for all players regardless of level. This means all furniture, decorations, accessories, and CAS items can be fully used — the last chance to build your dream home and design Sims without restrictions.
• January 20, 2026 at 7:59 PM WIB — Server shutdown (end of service). Servers will be turned off at this time and after that The Sims Mobile will no longer be playable. Since game progress is saved on servers, account/game data will not be accessible after shutdown.

Technical details & purchase policy

• Starting October 20, 2025, no new purchases can be made in-game.
• All purchases and currencies bought before October 20, 2025 can still be used until January 20, 2026. After servers shut down, balances/accounts can no longer be claimed or refunded.
• Because all items will become free on January 6, 2026, it’s recommended to use SimCash, Simoleons, and Tickets before that date if you want to exchange them for certain experiences — but remember that items will be free a few weeks before shutdown, so plan accordingly.

Events and gameplay during the discontinuation period

Events and in-game activities will continue until servers shut down, so players can still participate to earn Simoleons and items during this period. With unlimited energy provided in the final update, this is the perfect time to complete events, projects, and creations you haven’t finished yet.

Can I still play after the game is removed from stores? Yes — as long as you have installed the game before, you can still play until January 20, 2026.

Can I re-download if I deleted it before? Yes — users who have previously downloaded can re-download from the library/purchases in the App Store or Play Store until shutdown.

Will my progress be saved? Progress will be saved until servers are turned off. After 7:59 PM WIB, January 20, 2026, progress will no longer be accessible.

Can I get a refund for money I already spent? No. Purchases cannot be refunded after service ends; purchases before October 20 can be used until shutdown, but access will be lost afterward.
