Toei Animation Releases NOROI KAGO: the Grudged Domain Horror Game
Toei Animation has announced a four-player co-op survival horror game titled Noroi Kago: The Grudged Domain (Noroi Kago: Gegege no Yoru) in Japanese.
This game will debut at Tokyo Game Show 2024 and is currently scheduled to be released on Steam in 2025.
In Noroi Kago: The Grudged Domain, players must escape from a "confined space where yokai roam" while being cursed, which "slowly gnaws at their bodies before transforming them into half-demons."
Ritual items are needed to escape, and their locations will change in each game. There are also items with other functions, such as restraining yokai or reviving other players.
The art style of this game - developed in collaboration by Toei Animation and Toydium - is described as inspired by GeGeGe no Kitaro creator, Shigeru Mizuki, and is intended to have "strong contrasts between light and shadow."
