YouTube will implement new rules: users under 16 years old will no longer be able to live stream
YouTube just announced new rules that will take effect on July 22, 2025. The age limit to live stream will be raised from 13 to 16 years old. But don't worry, those aged 13 to 15 can still live stream as long as there is an adult accompanying and clearly visible on the screen.

This change is a serious step by YouTube to more strictly monitor children's content. Lately, many problems have arisen from children's live streaming, ranging from uncontrolled broadcasts to live chat conversations that are potentially dangerous.
YouTube sees that children under 16 are not fully ready to face pressure and public interaction alone. That's why they want every child's live stream to be supervised directly by an adult for greater safety.
If there is no supervision, the live chat feature will automatically be disabled for safety, and YouTube also has the right to take down the broadcast. Not only that, if this rule is repeatedly violated, the account can face sanctions—from restrictions to losing live streaming privileges.
This step is taken as a form of YouTube's commitment to making the platform safe and child-friendly, while also reducing the potential for abuse by irresponsible parties.
