Final Fantasy XIV Nintendo Switch 2 Version Releases August 2026
Square Enix has officially announced that Final Fantasy XIV will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in August 2026. This announcement was made during the keynote address at the FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2026 held in Anaheim on April 25, 2026.
Ahead of its official release, Square Enix is also preparing an early access period of approximately one month. During this period, players can try the game for free before the full launch begins.
Interestingly, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy XIV does not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play. However, unlike previous platforms, this version will have its own service fee.
For players who are already active subscribers on other platforms, Square Enix is offering a fee reduction. Players only need to pay 50% of the service fee when playing on Nintendo Switch 2.
With the arrival of this latest version, Final Fantasy XIV is further expanding its reach to more platforms, while also providing a new option for players who want to enjoy the popular MMORPG more flexibly.
