New Sword Art Online Anime Film in Production, Official Details to be Revealed in July
Fresh news has arrived from the Sword Art Online franchise. It has been announced that a brand-new original anime feature film is currently in the production stage. Further details about the project are scheduled to be shared in the upcoming month of July.
This announcement has once again captured fans' attention as the original film project was actually hinted at as early as 2022. This time, the latest update came through the closing segment of "Yuna First Live", an in-story concert featured in Sword Art Online The Movie -Ordinal Scale-, which first premiered in theaters on February 18, 2017. During the event, the involved parties confirmed that additional details would be revealed in July.
The official X account of the project also shared a message affirming that the original Sword Art Online feature film is indeed in the works. The message also asked fans to look forward to the next announcement.

Change in Yuna's Voice Actor
On the same occasion, the production committee confirmed that all songs previously performed by the late Sayaka Kanda will remain unchanged. However, for future appearances of the character Yuna in new stories, her role will be taken over by a new voice actor.
As the official successor, Risae Matsuda has been announced as the new voice of Yuna for upcoming productions.
